POSITION:
Our client, a federal agency, seeks the assistance of
litigation counsel for up to 6 months to provide litigation
support, mainly but not exclusively relating to a judicial
review hearing, which hearing-related tasks will include (1)
the strategic review of extensive documentation and (2)
drafting in support of a Memorandum of Fact and Law and
other associated legal memoranda leading up to the hearing.
TERM:
Up to 6 months with possibility, though no guarantee, of
extension.
CANDIDATE:
You are called to the Bar of Ontario; 2-7 years out. Neither
French nor LawPro insurance are required for this position.
(1) You have federal government clearance at least at the
level of “enhanced reliability”
(2) You have proven skills in organization, attention to
detail, and legal research and writing
(3) Desireables: familiarity with Applications before the
federal court; with administrative law; and/or civil
litigation
(4) You’re a quick learner who can hit the ground running
(5) Energy law exp, an asset.
ORGANIZATION:
A major federal agency that offers you the support of
several in-house lawyers and a responsive litigation
manager. You will be fully included in all legal dept
functions and communications.
